1. Become a freelancer

A freelancer is a person who works as a writer, designer or the like rather than working on a regular salary basis for one employer.

If you have the technical skills, writing and customer service skills, you can join a freelancing platform like Upwork to find suitable jobs for you and get paid. Payment will differ from each job or your client. You can get paid by the hour or fixed, which means you get the money after you complete the job.

I joined Upwork since 2013. My previous jobs included data entry, article writing, admin jobs and more. I apply for jobs that I know I can or that I can learn to do. I started with $ 3/ hour and it went up to $ 5/ hour.

You need to sign up and create an impressive profile of yourself. Show your portfolios or previous works. Try to sell yourself to the clients.

2. Teach English online

There are tons of jobs for English teaching online mostly from students from China, Japan, and South Korea.

Before applying to be an online English teacher, you must have a stable connection, a computer with a good quality camera and headset with microphone. The environment should also be quiet so you will not be distracted during the class.

I have been working part-time teaching Chinese learners. This job has given me the extra money that I give to my family every month. It’s also convenient because I can just do it in the comfort of my home. In addition, the schedule is flexible. I work when I want to or if there’s something I need to save up for, I work hard by teaching more hours in a day.

3. Blogging

At the moment, my blog is not earning anything and how I wish it will in the future. For now, I have to spend my time reading and studying about blogging. There are more to learn and skills to improve but I am open to it.
