COVID 19 Vaccine
I got my first dose of the COVID vaccine this month as I am working in the hospital. We are given the priority being that we are in contact with patients all the time who are ill, have a low immune system, therefore easy to get infected. At the same time, the vaccine is also important for us as our protection against coronavirus.
Booking for the vaccine was very easy in the UK as long as one has his NHS number. To get that, we had to be registered with a GP (General Practitioner).

Booking an appointment
They have a website to register and choose the date of appointment. The vaccination is done in our hospital itself so it’s convenient for the staff. Appointment time is available every 5 minutes which is quite amazing. That means that they will be able to vaccinate lots of people in a day.
Before I was injected, they told me it was the Pfizer vaccine, its common side effects, and what to do if it happens. The nurse who administered it was great and efficient, I can tell because I didn’t feel the pain when she did it. It was done quickly.
Afterward, I was instructed to wait for 15 minutes in the waiting area before I could go. Making sure that we don’t get any adverse reactions such as difficulty of breathing or anaphylactic reactions. Luckily, I didn’t experience any of those.

Side Effects
At exactly 15 minutes, we were allowed to go. The only side effect I felt was the soreness in my arms. My arm felt so heavy and moving it was so uncomfortable. I couldn’t lift it for two days because it hurt. However, other than that, I had no other side effects they have mentioned.
My second dose will be after approximately 10 weeks. I guess the plan is to administer the first dose to as many people as possible first, then give the second dose.
Done with my first dose, yey!
Have you had your COVID vaccine? How was it for you?
Good for you. I had Moderna. I didn’t experience anything odd while waiting for 15 mins after vaccination. But late at night I had a mild fever and a bit of headache the next day. After resting for 3 days I am able to go back to work.
I hope I would get sick again after getting my second dose because I don’t like lying in bed all day and not being productive.
Has anyone experience the same effect as mine after vaccination?
