Today’s post is about my visit to yet another tourist destination in South Cotabato specifically in Tupi, the Sunflower Blooming Park. Tupi is a municipality in Soccsksargen Region, close to my hometown, Polomolok.

Sunflowers Garden

If you live within South Cotabato province and would want to see an agri-tourist park or to directly say it, a garden of sunflowers, traveling to Tupi will be the right choice. Mariano’s Blooming Park is becoming a famous spot for Mindanaons and outside visitors alike.

The entrance fee is only 70 PHP for aduls in which you can enjoy visiting all of the gardens inside the park including the sunflower and vegetable gardens. They also have a restaurant in case you get hungry or if you want to stay longer and hang out with friends or families. After paying, they will put a wristband for you to wear, make sure to always wear it inside.

Before heading to this place, I heard some people say it wasn’t a good time to visit because there may be no sunflowers! I didn’t heed their warning though and decided to see it for myself. My thought that time, if they’re right, then it’s fine, I could visit it again next time.

I and my friend were lucky because sunflowers were blooming at that time! Hooray!

What’s even more interesting is that I’ve seen different types of sunflowers from the farm, one variety has only one flower in one sunflower plant, the common kind, while the others have several flowers on them which is pretty unique.

Traveling to Blooming Park

From my town to this park, it only took us 30-40 minutes on a motorcycle. You can also commute by bus or van to Tupi Terminal and from there, take a tricycle to the park.

Vegetables Garden

it’s also worth mentioning the different vegetables and plants in the park other than the sunflowers. Most of them are even new to me or those I only read or heard before, very enlightening.

Our tour probably only lasted less than an hour but it was great in terms of picture-taking. I have had many great photos because sunflowers are just naturally beautiful, aren’t they? At the park, the management is obviously still developing some areas, trying to beautify it even more. No doubt it will be awesome once it’s all set up and organized properly which I’ll definitely visit again if through.

For now, I will give it a thumbs up! It’s worth visiting for the sunflowers. =)

It can be a nice side-trip though. Other places to visit nearby are Mt. Matutum, Lake Holon, Nopol Hill, Sanchez Peak, Kalon Barak and more.
