Khao Yai is located in the central part of Thailand. Traveling from Bangkok to Khao Yai will take about 2 hours depending on the traffic within the city.

Khao Yai is known for its beautiful sceneries of nature; green tall trees, fresh cool air and a calm and relaxing aura of the place.

I was looking forward for this trip because I have heard great feedback from those who already visited this place. If you want to take a break from the busy life in the city, this is a good place to recharge and fall in love with nature again.

Where we stayed?

For two nights, we stayed at The Valley for only 5,250 Baht. Since we are a group of 5 people, we only have to pay about 1,000 Baht/ person. The room has 2 beds with TV and a small kitchen area with a microwave and a water boiler.

This place has a nice swimming pool area and a modernized gym. If you are a fitness enthusiast, I tell you that you will love the gym. We did use it during our stay so we can burn a tiny bit of calories before eating out again.

The only concern I had was with the wifi because it is only available in public places like the lobby area and the swimming pool area.

What to do?

Here are the things we did on our stay at Khao Yai:

  1. Most of the hotels and resorts in Khao Yai has swimming pools so the guests can enjoy their time by swimming. Since there is really nothing much to do around Khao Yai, you can just enjoy staying in your resort and hotel and enjoy the pool or just sun bathing if you want.
  2. Biking

The condo where we stayed has free bikes so you can ride the bike around the condo and its nearby buildings or if you are brave enough, you can take it out the road. It’s not only a fun activity but also a great exercise to burn calories during your vacation.

  1. Visited where most of the tourists go

Palio Village

It’s a shopping center with an Italian theme and it’s free for visitors. The architectural design and the garden are good background designs for your profile picture in your social media. Though, I noticed that most of the shops are closed when we visited. I am not certain if it’s because it was not on a weekend or maybe because not many people are really shopping there.

The Birder’s Lodge, Farmer Market

They sell fresh products from the farm in Khao Yai. They have fresh juices, milk, ice cream, vegetables and many more products that you might wanna try yourself. I bought passion fruit juice for only 35 baht since I haven’t tasted it for like years now and 3 small plants for 50 Baht each to add on our plant collection in our apartment.

Toscana Valley

We didn’t go inside the village but we were able to take pictures from the outside and they’re pretty stunning pictures too.

The Bloom

From the name of the place itself, I hope you understand that you will see a lot of beautiful flowers inside which we did.

  1. Food Eating

A popular food establishment in Khao Yai is the Chok Chai Burger and Steak. It’s located in the main road so it will not be so hard to find and the food is not that expensive as well. The burger meal ranges from 255 Baht to 350 Baht. The steak also costs 160 Baht only. Not to mention that the food is really delicious. One thing we also tried is the fresh milk for only 20 Baht.

Roma Restaurant

On our second night, we were craving for steak but we were looking for a restaurant that just fits our budget. Around the area where we stayed, we passed through restaurants but they were a bit expensive so we continued to look around until we reached ROMA restaurant. We saw a lot of people so we thought that it must be within affordable price. I bought a barbecue steak for 250 Baht.

Overall, our stay was very relaxing and just what we needed before going back to work mode again.
